Eric M. O’Malley

Design Director, OA+D President

Eric O’Malley is a creative design executive with more than 20 years of experience in packaging, print, and publication design. He leads creative strategy and multidisciplinary teams, developing innovative, market-driven solutions for global and Fortune 500 brands across consumer goods, media, spirits, and personal care.

His work bridges concept through production, with deep expertise in prototyping, print production, and advanced decorative print and material technologies that enhance both the visual and tactile experience of packaging. He collaborates closely with manufacturing and marketing teams to bring ideas to life at scale while pushing the boundaries of packaging innovation.

Eric has served on multiple boards supporting architecture and design, including the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, Taliesin Fellows, The Friends of Kebyar, Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust, reflecting his ongoing commitment to design stewardship and cultural preservation.

William B. Scott, Jr.

Architectural Historian, OA+D Vice President

William Blair Scott, Jr., is an architectural historian based in Lexington. Known as “Bill,” he serves as President of the Taliesin Fellows, the alumni association of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.

Scott has authored numerous books and articles on Frank Lloyd Wright and related figures, including William Wesley Peters – A Creative Force, The Living Architecture of David Dodge, and a biography of Eric Lloyd Wright.

From 1987 to 1991, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. In 2009, he was awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership in the American Institute of Architects in recognition of his contributions to architectural history in Kentucky.

Michael D. Rust

Architect, OA+D Treasurer

Michael D. Rust is an architect whose work is grounded in the principles of organic architecture. A graduate of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, he has dedicated his career to designing buildings that respond to their site, materials, and the people they serve.

Rust began his professional career working with Taliesin Architects, the successor firm to Frank Lloyd Wright, where he contributed to a wide range of projects including civic, educational, religious, and commercial buildings, working alongside former apprentices of Wright and continuing the tradition of organic architectural practice.

He is a registered architect in Arizona, California, and Florida.

In private practice, he has designed residential and commercial projects across multiple regions of the United States, with experience in project design, coordination, and delivery across a range of building types.

At the Organic Architecture + Design Archives, Rust contributes his expertise in architecture and design to support the preservation and stewardship of archival materials, helping to ensure that the legacy and principles of organic architecture remain accessible for research, exhibitions, and future generations, and plays a key role in guiding the organization’s growth and long-term vision.

David A. Milstead

Architect, OA+D Board Member

David A. Milstead is an architect whose work reflects a thoughtful balance of design, craft, and context. Educated in architecture with a focus on design fundamentals and material expression, he developed an early appreciation for the integration of structure, environment, and human experience.

Milstead’s architectural perspective was significantly shaped through his association with Bruce Goff, whose influence is evident in his sensitivity to site, inventive use of materials, and commitment to individuality in design. This experience helped inform an approach that values experimentation alongside discipline, resulting in work that is both expressive and grounded.

With experience spanning residential and small-scale commercial projects, Milstead is known for creating spaces that are functional, deeply considered, and responsive to their surroundings. His work emphasizes clarity, proportion, and enduring quality, often drawing from the principles of organic and regional design.

In addition to his practice, Milstead maintains an interest in the cultural and historical dimensions of architecture, contributing to ongoing conversations around preservation, craftsmanship, and the role of design in shaping meaningful environments.

Aris Georges

Architectural Designer & Educator, OA+D Board Member

Aris Georges is an architectural designer, educator, and speaker whose work explores the relationship between nature, abstraction, and the built environment. His approach is rooted in a deep sensitivity to site, light, and material, with an emphasis on architecture as an experiential and integrated discipline.

A member of the Taliesin Fellowship, Georges was influenced by the principles of organic architecture, shaping a design philosophy that values harmony with the environment, clarity of form, and the expressive potential of materials. Georges has contributed to architectural discourse through teaching at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture for two decades, participating in architectural juries in the U.S. and Europe, and presenting lectures and public workshops. He continually explores the subject of “Nature Patterns” that examines the translation of the natural world into abstract geometric form. 

His work reflects an ongoing exploration of how natural systems and regional conditions can inform architectural thinking and spatial expression. In addition to his design work, he remains engaged in education and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to conversations around sustainability, regional identity, and the evolving role of architecture in shaping meaningful human experience.

Elizabeth A. Rosensteel

Interior Designer, OA+D Board Member

Elizabeth A. Rosensteel is an interior designer, artist, and creative director known for her highly original, architecture-driven approach to spatial design. As founder of Elizabeth A. Rosensteel Design Studio, established in 1999, she has built a practice centered on crafting bespoke residential, commercial, and hospitality environments that integrate art, material, and structure into cohesive, experiential spaces.

Born in Boston, Rosensteel studied at Boston University and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where she focused on visual communication. Her early career spanned corporate design, event production, and retail planning before transitioning fully into architectural and interior design.

Rosensteel’s work is distinguished by a multidisciplinary background that includes sculpture, furniture design, and art direction, informing a practice that treats interiors as fully realized, three-dimensional compositions. She has held a leadership role as principal and director of interior environmental design at Taliesin Associated Architects, where she collaborated on projects rooted in the principles of organic architecture.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Rosensteel has developed a reputation for designing highly individualized spaces that respond to both architecture and client lifestyle. Her work emphasizes craftsmanship, material innovation, and a deep respect for the architectural intent of each project, positioning her as a distinctive voice in contemporary design.

James Logan Abell, FAIA, LA

Architect, OA+D Development Board Member

James Logan Abell, FAIA, LA is a distinguished architect, landscape architect, and urban designer whose work spans campus master planning, K–12 public schools, hospitality, office buildings, zoological environments, and residential design. His career reflects a deep commitment to creating thoughtful, livable communities through design that balances vision, function, and resourcefulness.

Widely recognized for his leadership in civic planning and public architecture, Abell was awarded the prestigious AIA Kemper Medal in 2010, one of the highest honors bestowed on an American architect. The award acknowledged his decades-long contribution to civic visioning plans for communities across the United States, advancing the cause of urban design excellence and community-focused development.

Abell’s architectural work is particularly noted for budget-conscious public school designs that are artfully elevated through the use of color, texture, form, and variety. These engaging, dynamic learning environments have positively impacted thousands of students, demonstrating how thoughtful design can enhance educational experience even within constrained resources.

In 2014, he received the AIA Thomas Jefferson Award for Public Architecture, recognizing a career of sustained excellence and meaningful contribution to public architecture. This honor reflects the breadth and lasting impact of his work in improving the quality of life across diverse communities.

Jochen Walther

Architectural Designer, OA+D Development Board Member

Jochen Walther is an architectural designer with more than two decades of experience across construction and architecture, specializing in luxury residential and hospitality projects. As a Design Professional at PHX Architecture, he contributes to high-end, design-driven work throughout the American Southwest and beyond.

Originally from Germany, Walther began his studies in Europe before continuing his education at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture in Scottsdale, where he developed a design approach rooted in organic architecture and a strong sensitivity to site, structure, and material.

His background includes roles as a senior project manager and project manager with leading firms, along with earlier work at PHX Architecture (formerly Peterson Architecture) on custom residential projects in Arizona, Hawaii, and California. He is known for clear communication, collaboration, and a practical understanding of design and construction.

Walther also serves as Vice President of the Taliesin Fellows and as media manager for both the Taliesin Fellows and the Organic Architecture + Design Archives, supporting outreach and communications.

Fluent in English, French, and German, he brings a global perspective to his work, with interests in architectural photography and model making.
