Preserving and Expanding Access to the Archive of Organic Architecture

A growing archive of original drawings, documents, photographs, and design records from architects and designers of the organic architecture movement.

The Organic Architecture + Design Archives is dedicated to preserving original drawings, documents, photographs, and design records—materials that are increasingly being entrusted to us for long-term care and access.

Significant collections, including more than 60,000 documents from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, reflect the importance of this work and the trust placed in OA+D as a steward of these materials.

Significant collections have already been entrusted to OA+D — ongoing support ensures they can be properly preserved and made accessible.

Since 2013, we have preserved thousands of works connected to architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Bruce Goff and Paolo Soleri, and additional collections continue to be identified and entrusted to the archive.

What This Means

As collections grow, so does the need for:

  • Archival preservation and conservation

  • Cataloging and digitization

  • Research and public access

  • Support for exhibitions and academic study

  • Development of our digital archive and website to expand public, research, and institutional access

This is ongoing, hands-on work that requires sustained resources.

Why Support Matters

Many collections arrive in varying conditions and require time, expertise, and infrastructure to properly preserve and make them accessible.

Support allows OA+D to responsibly manage these materials, expand access, and ensure they are available to researchers, institutions, and the public.

What Your Support Enables

Your contribution directly supports:

  • Processing and preservation of newly acquired collections

  • Cataloging and digitization for access

  • Expansion of archival and research capabilities

  • Collaboration with researchers, curators, and institutions

  • Development of digital access through our website and online archive
